“I wanted to share with everyone that power has been restored to all of our buildings and school will be open on Wednesday, November 8th

There are still some road closures within our district.  If you live in a residence that is not accessible for street traffic, please have your student meet the bus at the nearest cross street that is accessible.  If you do not have reasonable bus access, or if you are still without power and don’t feel you will be able to get your child to school, please call the attendance line so we know your child will be absent and they will be excused from school due to these circumstances.

We appreciate your patience as this has been a difficult situation for many of our residents and our safety forces.  Thank you and have a good evening.”

VIEWING THE 2017 SOLAR ECLIPSE SAFELY Solar eclipse photo

Looking directly into the sun during the upcoming 2017 solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 is not safe.  The light of an eclipse really can damage your eyes.  The bright light floods the retina making the cells over-stimulate and release a flood of communication chemicals that can damage the retina.  The only really safe way to look at the sun during the eclipse is through special eclipse glasses or hand-held solar viewers.  Homemade filters or glasses are not safe for looking at the sun.  For a listing of reputable vendors of solar eclipse glasses and viewers, please click HERE.
