NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY’S PRINCESS PROM AWAITS – February 2, 2019 Pink crown with word Princess on front

All pre-K through 5th grade princesses are cordially invited to attend the National Honor Society sponsored Princess Prom accompanied by their King or Queen.  The ball will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  Please RSVP by January 22, 2019 in order to receive your invitation!  This year the ball is proudly sponsored in part by Allstate Integrity Insurance Agency. 

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be offered during the day at Aurora High School from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. so that the princesses can get ready for the ball.  The princesses can have their hair styled for $15.00 and their nails painted for $5.00.  For more information about this event, please click on the invitation link below.  Sign up for the boutique by emailing princessprom2019@gmail.com.  We look forward to seeing all the princesses at the Prom.

AHS NIGHT WITH THE CAVS INCLUDES CHAMBER SINGERS PERFORMANCE Cleveland Cavaliers Shield Logo

The AHS Chamber Singers will be performing the National Anthem at the Cavs vs. Washington Wizards basketball game on Tuesday, January 29, 2018 at Quicken Loans Arena.  They would love to see you there cheering on the Cavs and supporting the choir.  Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. but get there early to be sure and hear the choir.

SPECIAL SERVICES PARENT COMMUNICATION FORUM (PCF) ~ January 30, 2019 Grey Circle with Special Services in Orange

This month's Special Services PCF will be held on January 30, 2019 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Leighton School Media Center.  It will feature speaker Michael Embrescia, who will relate his own success story from a challenged student to CEO of his own company.

“KICK OFF TO KINDERGARTEN” AT MILLER SCHOOL ~ Tuesday, February 5, 2019 "GET READY FOR KINDERGARTEN" in Colorful Block Letters with colored dots inside letters

It’s time to think about the next school year already!  Miller Elementary School’s “Kick Off to Kindergarten” program for the upcoming Kindergarten class (Class of 2032) will be held at Miller School on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This is an informational meeting for parents of students entering kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year and will outline the Kindergarten program and procedures for registering kindergarten students.  During this meeting parents will receive their registration packet with important dates, required documents needed and instructions on how to complete and return the registration papers.

In the Aurora School District, a child who is five on or before September 30th is eligible for Kindergarten registration. If you have any questions, please contact the Miller School office.

The Ohio School Boards Association has declared January 2019 as School Board Recognition Month.  Thank you to our Aurora City Schools’ Board members:  Gerald Kohanski, President; Pam Mehallis, Vice President, Zena Elliott, Miriam Conner and Stephen Sabulsky.  Each member spends many dedicated hours serving the children in our community and making our district one of the top ranked district’s in the State of Ohio and the nation.


AURORA CITY SCHOOLS' TWO-HOUR DELAY PROCEDURES School Delays Sign

In accordance with the Aurora City School District’s Procedures for Emergency School Closing, the use of a delayed school opening may be utilized in the event of inclement weather.

Under the two-hour delay, the school day will be modified; however, the school day will end at the usual time.  To view the high school and middle school building’s delayed start class schedules, please click on the links below.
