Supporting Our Schools
If you’re like me, you may find yourself looking for ways to tighten up your spending after the fun, food, and travel over winter break. The good news is that you can still support your schools without buying (or selling!) anything that’s not already on your shopping list.
I’d like to take this time to remind all of our families about two important, and on-going, fund raisers that we have all year long in our schools.
The first is our box tops program. Check out the packaging on many of the things you may already have in your pantries. The box tops logo can be found on General Mills cereal boxes, crackers, granola bars, and more. Each box top students turn in helps our schools earn 10 cents for classroom materials and supplies.
The second program is Heinen’s “Teaming Up for Education” initiative. If you are a Heinen’s shopper, you can sign up online, or at their courtesy counter. Participation is retroactive to the start of the school year, so joining now will help our Elementary and Harmon/ High PTO groups earn rewards back to the start of the school year. This year we have a total of 338 families across the district with cards linked to our schools. If you have already joined, thank you! If you haven’t, please consider signing up this weekend!
