PSAT/NMSQT 2016 TESTING DATE ~ Wednesday, October 19, 2016

The 2016 Practice SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be given on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 7:40 a.m. at Aurora High School.

Registration begins September 26, 2016 and ends October 12, 2016.

As an FYI - Free and Reduced lunch recipients will be rolled over from last year for 30 days (which begins with the first day of school for the 2016-17 school year).  If a child does not have their paperwork in by September 28th they will be returned to full pay lunch status.


BOYS’ SOCCER TEAM HOLDING 2ND ANNUAL BREAST CANCER T-SHIRT FUNDRAISER

The Aurora Schools’ boys’ soccer team will be holding their 2nd annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser with t-shirts being sold during the homecoming football game on September 30, 2016.  They will also be available to purchase during school lunch periods the week of October3rd.  The minimum donation for a t-shirt is $10.  With each t-shirt that is purchased comes a raffle entry to win an Ultimate Sports Booster pass.  100% of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.  Thank you for supporting this cause.

AHS VOLLEYBALL TEAM HOSTING 2016 VOLLEY FOR A CURE ~ October 4, 2016

The AHS Volleyball team will be hosting a 2016 Volley for A Cure event on October 4, 2016 during the Freshman, JV and Varsity games from 4:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  Join the teams (including Revere) for a special recognition of family members currently battling cancer (or cancer survivors) prior to the 6:30 p.m. Varsity game.  The night will also include a bake sale, boot collection and games/prizes along with entry to the games with a donation at the door.  All proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  We hope to see you at this special event!

NEW IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR

REMINDER:  Parents please get the required immunizations for your child and send the information to school.

The Portage County Health Department has released the new vaccine requirements that might affect your child. 

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year:

All students entering the 7th grade will be required to have one dose of meningococcal vaccine (also known as MCV4, Menveo or Menactra) in addition to one dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diptheria, and acellular pertussis).

All students entering the 12th grade will be required to have a 2nd dose of meningococcal vaccine prior to entry. If the first dose of MCV4 was administered on or after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required.

Nurses from the Portage County Health Department will be at Miller School during Kindergarten Registration (March 8, 2016) and will administer immunizations to any student under the age of 18.

AURORA BAND CALENDAR SALE ~ Monday, August 1, 2016

The Aurora High School Band will be selling their CALENDAR OF EVENTS door-to-door on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.   Calendars are $10 each.  In addition, you can purchase the school calendar (an essential planning aid) after the door-to-door sales event ends at Mazzulo's Market in Aurora through the month of September.  Additionally, advance tickets for the Thunder Over Aurora Marching Band Show (September 10, 2016) will also be available at a pre-sale price of $5.00 (after August 1st, pre-sale ticket price is $6.00/$8.00 at door).
