Time Warner Cable, in an effort to improve internet speed and increase bandwidth, is converting many analog channels to digital. For some customers that will affect where you see Cable 9(channel 15) and your Community Channels(16,17).
If you have a digital box from Time Warner you will see no difference. Cable 9 will remain on channel 15 and the Community Channels will remain on 16 and 17.
If you do not have a cable box and plug the cable directly into your TV there are 2 scenarios:
1. If you have a newerTV with a Qam tuner, you will see Cable 9 on channel 96.15 and your Community Channels on 96.16 and 96.17
2. If you have an older TV that cannot get channels 96.15, 96.16 or 96.17 you will need an analog converter from Time Warner Cable. It is a very small box that will re-route the Qam channels back to their original location(15, 16 and 17.
If your TV remote has a decimal or dash near the numbers you may have a Qam tuner. Enter 96.15 or 96-15 to see or Auto Program your TV. If you cannot get channels 96.15, 16 or 17 on your television, simply call Time Warner Cable at 1 877 772-2253 to set up a free service call for a technician to come out and install an analog converter. The converters are currently free but you will be charged $1.50 per month beginning in fall of 2015.
