AURORA HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM SPONSORS 5th ANNUAL MATTRESS FUNDRAISER - ONE DAY ONLY ~ Saturday, August 2, 2014

The Aurora Schools’ Football program will host their annual mattress fundraiser for the fifth year in a row on Saturday, August 2, 2014.  If you are in need of a NEW, name brand, high-quality mattress set (much higher quality and 30-60% below retail!), then come to Aurora High School from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on that day. There will be brand new mattress sets with factory warranties on display to try and experts on hand to answer any questions.  Delivery is available.

AURORA BAND CALENDAR SALE ~ Monday, August 4, 2014

The Aurora High School Marching Band will be selling their CALENDAR OF EVENTS door-to-door on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Calendars are $10 each. In addition, you can purchase a school calendar at Mazzulo's Market. Any additional purchase locations will be announced. The band members will also be selling Thunder Over Aurora tickets at a discounted rate of $5 during the door-to-door calendar sale.  This event is sponsored by the Aurora Band Boosters.

MEET OUR NEW ADMINISTRATOR’S NIGHT ~ Monday, August 4, 2014

The Aurora City School District’s PTO would like to extend an invitation to meet our new administrator’s for the fall.  Please join them on the evening of Monday, August 4, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at   Leighton Elementary School where our new administrators, Julie Troman (Craddock School principal),  Mike Janatovich (Harmon School assistant principal), and Paul Goodwin (Leighton School principal) will all be on-hand to introduce themselves and meet community members. 

We hope you can join us to get to know them better and welcome them to our district.


AURORA SCHOOL DISTRICT 2014-15 SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS AVAILABLE ON-LINE

School supply lists for the 2014-15 school year are available on-line for students in grades Preschool - 8.

There is no school supply list for Aurora High School students. Each teacher will inform their students as to what materials they will need for class at either new student orientation or the first day of class. It is recommended that all high school students come prepared with basic school supplies, such as spiral notebook paper, folders, pencils, pens and the calculator that corresponds with the math class they are taking.  (Integrated Math 1 BLOCK or Integrated Math 1- Graphic Calculator TI 83+ or TI 84+ (TI 89 is not recommended) on the first day of school

To find your student's supply list, go to the Aurora Schools’ website homepage and then go to either the Parent Portal or Student Portal at the top of the page.  Scroll down to the School Supply Lists title to find each grade level listed and select.

Harmon Middle School Principal Mark Abramovich has announced that he is now using a Twitter feed to provide information on Harmon Middle School.  To receive updates and notifications, along with event and general information, you can now find it under the Twitter name Mark Abramovich with his tag is HarmonPrincipal.


AURORA GREENMEN VS TWINSBURG TIGERS ~ 2014 Battle for Bragging Rights T-Shit Sale

Shirts are now available to purchase for the Aurora Greenmen vs. Twinsburg Tigers “2014 Bragging Rights” shirt sale.  The shirts come in green for Aurora and blue for Twinsburg.  The Cross Town Rivals football game will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 beginning at 7:00 p.m. away at Twinsburg.  The cost is $10.

The shirts will be on sale in the Athletic Office before school and through student council once school begins.  All proceeds go to student council.   For a drawing of what the shirt looks like, please click on the link below.

SPECIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT PARENT COMMUNICATION FORUM “How IDEA Funds Are Spent” ~ August 7, 2014

The Aurora City Schools’ Special Services Department will be holding a Parent Communication Forum (PCF) on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The topic will be How IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) Funds Are Spent.  Dr. Kathy Mrsnik will be the presenter.  It will be held in the Leighton Media Center.

AURORA CITY SCHOOL BUILDING OFFICE SUMMER HOURS

The Aurora City Schools are currently operating on a summer schedule in order to conserve energy wherever possible. The following hours for each school building will be in effect until the 2014 -15 school year begins in August.

School Board Office ~ Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Closed on Friday’s beginning June 13 – August 1, 2014.  If registration is needed on a Friday the Board Office is closed, please call 330-954-2228 to make arrangements.

Aurora High School ~ Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Harmon Middle School ~ Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
