SPECIAL SERVICES PCF ~ January 31, 2018 ~ 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. special services word in white on green board

This month's Special Services PCF will feature Melissa McClain, the Community Education Program Coordinator at Akron’s Children’s Hospital.  She will be presenting Reducing Childhood Stress: A Presentation for Parents on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Leighton School.  Parents will walk away with a strong understanding of stress and practical tools to reduce stress in their children and encourage relaxation.

HARMON SCHOOL RED CROSS PINT SIZE BLOOD DRIVE ~ Friday, February 23, 2018 American Red Cross word with red cross

Harmon Middle School is hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross.  It will take place on Friday, February 23. Be sure to ask your parents and relatives to participate in this good cause.  8th graders will earn one Data Assignment for each donor recruited.  They can get up to two Data Assignments.  7th graders will earn five Bio Bucks for each donor.  They can receive up to 10 Bio Bucks.  6th graders will receive tickets for each donor recruited. Students, you were given an information sheet in your report cards, so be sure to look at that for more information.

The make-up date for the cancelled January 5th ski/snowboard club trip will be on Friday, February 9, 2018.

HEINEN’S TEAMING UP FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM Heinen's Teaming Up For Education Green Logo

Through Heinen's Teaming Up for Education program, Heinen's will donate up to 1% of your eligible purchases.  The reward period is September through April and is retroactive to the first day of program!  To register, simply stop by the Heinen’s customer service desk and tell them you would like to sign up for the Teaming Up for Education program or register at www.heinensrewards.com.  Select "my school" from the School Donation Program under Quick Links at the bottom of the webpage and choose an Aurora School.   You must designate a school every year.  Thank you for your continued support!

At Harmon School there is a Heinen's Teaming Up for Education Contest.   Currently, Harmon has 49 supporters, if we reach 150 supporters by January 31st, the whole school will have an ice cream party during lunch!    

PTO JANUARY BOX TOP CONTESTS ~ Grades Preschool - 8 Box Top For Education in Pink

During the month of January, there will be PTO contests for grades Preschool-8th. Individual winner contests will be run at the Miller, Craddock and Leighton. As always, there will be great prizes! 

At Harmon from January 8-January 31st, there will be a classroom contest.  Sixth and Eighth graders should turn their Box Tops into their homeroom teachers, while Seventh graders should turn them into their 2nd period teachers. The classroom with the most Box Tops per grade will win a juice/donut party!  AHS students can turn in Box Tops at the Book Store for FREE candy! Just a reminder that expired Box Tops will not be counted.  Also, Box Tops are always collected at all school offices, as well as, the Aurora Library throughout the entire year.

In accordance with the Aurora City School District’s Procedures for Emergency School Closing, the use of a delayed school opening may be utilized in the event of inclement weather.
