AURORA ORCHESTRA ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL STEAK ‘N STRINGS BENEFIT DINNER, CONCERT AND RAFFLE ~ February 21, 2015

Join the Aurora Orchestra Association on February 21, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Aurora High School Cafeteria for a delicious Outback Steak House dinner.  The Outback Steak House of Macedonia will be preparing the food on-site at AHS.  Dinners include their 9 oz. filet with sides and cheesecake.  A kid’s meal choice and vegetarian selection will also be available.  Presale tickets are required with an order deadline of February 4th.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

Entertainment will be provided.  Raffle items will also be available to win.

HARMON SCHOOL MUSICAL ANNIE JR. ~ January 29 &30 ~ 7:00 p.m.

Please join us in the AHS Auditorium for the Harmon School Musical performances of Annie Jr. on January 29 and 30, 2015.  Tickets are $3 for students and $4 for adults.  Curtain time both evenings is at 7:00 p.m.  Hope to see you there.


AFTER PROM COMMITTEE HOLDING CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER ~ Wednesday, March 4, 2015

The AHS After Prom Committee is holding a fundraiser at CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL restaurant located at 2640 Creekside Drive in Twinsburg.  They will donate 50% of sales on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. when the flyer below is presented.  Proceeds will go to the Aurora High School After Prom.

Thank you to all who support our After Prom Committee fundraisers and to the Chipotle restaurant in Twinsburg for their generous support of our students.

AURORA PTO SPAGHETTI DINNER ~ Friday, March 6, 2015

Join us for the Aurora Parent-Teacher Organization Spaghetti Dinner on Firday, March 6, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Aurora High School Commons. The dinner includes a meal, beverage, and dessert.

First grade students, the Middle School Orchestra, and the Leighton Leaping Stars will priovide entertainment.

AURORA CITY SCHOOLS' TWO-HOUR DELAY PROCEDURES

 

In accordance with the Aurora City School District’s Procedures for Emergency School Closing, the use of a delayed school opening may be utilized in the event of inclement weather.

Under the two-hour delay, the school day will be modified; however, the school day will end at the usual time.  To view the high school and middle school building’s delayed start class schedules, please click on the links below.

AURORA SCHOOL DISTRICT QUALITY PROFILE RELEASED

The Aurora City School District has released a comprehensive “Quality Profile” companion document to the Ohio Department of Education’s School District Report Card.  This “Quality Profile” features measures that help define what a quality public education looks like for our community which are not included in the State Report Card.  This was done in conjunction with area school districts and is supported by the Alliance for High Quality Education, an education consortium that works to improve educational opportunities for students and to speak for member districts on matters of educational policy and funding.

The content of this Quality Profile examines in greater depth those qualities that our community deems important for a high quality public education based on our Strategic Planning Committee recommendations and recent Community Survey. The profile content includes six categories:  Academics, Arts, Student Leadership and Activities, Fiscal Stewardship, Parent and Community Involvement and Student Services.  This document allows us to highlight these programs and reflect their community importance.

As the Quality Profile is being released statewide for the first time by a consortium of districts, it is our intention to continually update the document in order to keep residents informed and knowledgeable about our district’s educational priorities.  It will be added under “Quick Links” on our district homepage and can be found here.
