AURORA SCHOOL BUILDINGS CLOSED & COMPUTER/TELEPHONE SERVICES UNAVAILABLE ON FRIDAY, JULY 22, 2014

Due to computer maintenance, ALL school buildings in the Aurora City School District will be closed and will not have telephone, internet or email service on Friday, July 25, 2014.  The district’s regular summer building hours and phone service will resume again on Monday, July 28th.  Thank you for your patience.

School supply lists for the 2014-15 school year are available on-line for students in grades Preschool - 8.

From the Aurora Schools’ website homepage, go to either the Parent Portal or Student Portal at the top of the page.  Scroll down to the School Supply Lists title to find each grade level listed and select.


SPECIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT PARENT COMMUNICATION FORUM “How IDEA Funds Are Spent” ~ August 7, 2014

The Aurora City Schools’ Special Services Department will be holding a Parent Communication Forum (PCF) on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The topic will be How IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) Funds Are Spent.  Dr. Kathy Mrsnik will be the presenter.  It will be held in the Leighton Media Center.

MILLER SCHOOL INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL MEET & GREET ~ Thursday, August 21, 2014

The Miller Elementary School Integrated Preschool Meet & Greet will be taking place for the 2014-15 school year on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in the Miller School lower level Preschool classrooms.  It will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. or 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.  For an informational flyer and contact information, please click on the link below.

AURORA CITY SCHOOL BUILDING OFFICE SUMMER HOURS

The Aurora City Schools are currently operating on a summer schedule in order to conserve energy wherever possible. The following hours for each school building will be in effect until the 2014 -15 school year begins in August.

School Board Office ~ Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Closed on Friday’s beginning June 13 – August 1, 2014.  If registration is needed on a Friday the Board Office is closed, please call 330-954-2228 to make arrangements.

Aurora High School ~ Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Harmon Middle School ~ Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Leighton Elementary School ~ Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

AURORA SCHOOLS’ PTO SCHOOL SUPPLY SALE

The Aurora Schools’ PTO is currently sponsoring the sale of prepackaged school supplies for the upcoming 2014 -15 school year.  The sale runs until July 28, 2014.  On-line ordering is available and orders can be customized.
